Memory #12
➠ Memory #12: ☆ "I want the Avatar alive" [Note: About failing to capture the Avatar again ↔ Episode 1x04] (Trivial Negative)
[Won in Game #136]
What he remembered/learned:
- Meditating like a pro! Waiting to hear news about the Avatar and he's totally in control of his emotions, totally. Except that fails like a few seconds later as he hears there's . . . none. THE AVATAR SURE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE PEOPLE LOSE HIS TRAIL (right).
- A day or so later, they hear the Avatar is on Kyoshi Island and he orders to go there RIGHT NOW. He sure loses his patience sort of fast here.
- Once on Kyoshi Island, he attacks the village and it kind of gets destroyed because of it. All because he was forcing the Avatar out.
- HE SURE FOUGHT AND HURT THE KYOSHI WARRIORS (including Suki).
- Aang shows up and they fight briefly, but Aang sends Zuko flying and he takes that as an opportunity to run away with Katara and Sokka.
- Once Zuko notices Aang is running away he orders his soldiers to follow him! And then Aang throws a lot of water at them. '-'
What this means:
GUILT?! Oh, okay, he totally destroyed a small village to lure the Avatar out. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, RIGHT? RIGHT.
That's basically what he'll get from this memory and it'll mostly increase his need to do Things Right and to find ways to achieve what he wants without hurting people. It'll still be a struggle, though, since part of his character is his compassion and being unable to take a side because he can understand both of them. This is why it's so hard for him to always put Ruby first, because he can't just forget the other teams are also people and that he's friends with some of them. The more memories he gets back the harder it'll become, but it'll also give him the strength to be able to stick to that decision no matter how difficult it is.
SO YEAH. This memory will only give him guilt about his past, as much as he also understands he had a very strong reason to go after Aang.
