Memory #8

Memory #8:"She's not gonna make it . . . Of course she did" [Note: About siblings ↔ Episode 3x16] (Significant Neutral)

[Won in Game #125 (Sharable: 2/5)]

AS AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Zuko's ONE MEMORY PER EPISODE registry doesn't work as best as I thought it would originally, so every time he gets a memory for a new episode I watch all of it and decide if it's better if I split it into different memories. I DECIDED TO SPLIT THIS EPISODE INTO THREE. Also I'm not sure why I marked this one as a sig pos, but I guess it's because Katara forgives him by the end of it. EXCEPT I DECIDED TO CHANGE THEM ALL TO SIG NEU and one trivial, because it makes more sense to me this way now.

What he remembered/learned:
- Team Avatar was having a peaceful sleepy morning somewhere when suddenly THE FIRE NATION ATTACKED.
- Zuko protects Katara from rocks, Katara isn't that pleased by it. IT'S CLEAR SHE DOESN'T LIKE HIM.
- Everyone starts to evacuate but Zuko decides to stay to hold them off.
- "I think this is a family visit"
- HIS SISTER WANTS TO KILL HIM?!
- "You mean it's not obvious yet? I'm about to celebrate becoming an only child!" <-- Azula is sane.
- HE SURE HAS NO PROBLEM JUMPING LIKE A CRAZY MAN.
- FIGHT BETWEEN SIBLINGS!!!! Determination to defeat Azula.
- HE ALMOST DIES, except not.
- New firebending tricks he can use.
- He falls again with Azula, but Katara gets his hand and he lands on Appa.
- Unsure about Azula making out of it alive, but she does.
- ALL THE UNSURE FEELINGS AT THE END.

What this means:

I wanted this memory to be separated from the rest mostly because . . . it is the first memory he gets one of Azula aside from that childhood memory. It also makes clear that he not only lacked a good relationship with her, she also wanted to kill him. He seems determined to fight her, but he doesn't want her dead, as much as he has a lot of conflicting feelings about it.

Another big thing is that, even if he joined Team Avatar, it's clear he wasn't completely accepted by Katara. Which makes sense, considering what he can remembers of what he's done in the past, but it's something that gives him regret.

This memory also gives him more determination in general.
